Foreclosure Listing Service Inc. has completed a study of foreclosure postings sold at foreclosure auctions and lists Denton as the highest rate of third party purchasers in the four county area including Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and Collin counties.
According to George Roddy Sr., president of Foreclosure Listing Service, 5 percent of the foreclosure postings that were actually auctioned off at the foreclosure auctions were purchased by third party buyers during the first nine months of the year, totaling a little more than 700 properties from January through September.

County foreclosures hit 500 for October sale

Residential foreclosures are on the rise again in Denton County and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Foreclosure Listing Service Inc.
For the Oct. 7 sale, Denton County foreclosures are up 34 percent with 500 listed for the upcoming sale, compared to 372 for the October 2007 auction.
Collin County topped the list with a 50 percent increase in foreclosure listings with 484 filed for the upcoming auction, up from 322 for October 2007.
